Chapter 1

 Hi there, allow me to introduce myself! My name is Tyler - you've probably seen me around town. I co-own the computer, electronics & office supply store with my sweetie Nicole.

I was born in Nelson, 1977... year of the 1st Langham benefit. My folks lived on B ave then.
My parents (the Scobie-Dobies) moved in together in Mirror Lake in 1974, and were married on Fletcher beach in 1976. My family again lived on B in 1986. They also co-owned some land north of Fletcher Falls with Dr. Leah Seaman ... 19 acres known as Huckleberry Ridge. But sold their share to Leah while we were living in Ontario.

My dad worked on (and was project manager/president of ) the Langham Cultural Society, and helped renovate an old broken-down hotel into what it is now. . . He then went on to get a Masters Degree in Environmental Design (Architecture) from the University of Calgary. My mum was the public Health Nurse for the Kaslo area before Liz Ross. She worked as an Easter Seal Nurse in Ottawa, then got her Masters in Nursing from U of O (while working full time!). She now teaches Nursing at UVIC.
My parents live in Vancouver now.

I have a younger brother Logan, he has traveled a lot but resides now in Ottawa where he lives and works with friends.

We moved to Ottawa (from here) in 1987.  I was almost 10, Logan was 5. I attended Canterbury High School for the Arts.  lived in Ottawa until 1996, when I moved to Nelson at age 19 and went to Selkirk College in Castlegar for a semester.  I then returned to Ottawa, and did some Internet technical support as well as attending the University of Ottawa.  I moved to Nelson in 2001 and taught computer skills at the Nelson Library for a summer before getting a job at the Net idea.  After getting laid off, I spent a fabulous winter on the Team Canada EI Snowboarding Team, before running a pool hall on Baker St for a few months.

I moved back to Kaslo in late 2003. I now have 2 sons, Elwyn and Xavier, born in 2005 and 2007 respectively.
Their mother Nicole Rhynold and I own KLC & Electronics. { link }
I have sat on the board of Directors of Kaslo infoNet Society since 2004.
