submitted by Lynn van Deursen North Kootenay Lake Community Services Society (NKLCSS) Volunteer Board Chair
We have come up with a fun and colourful way for you to help support NKLCSS as we embark on another year without adequate funding from our Provincial Government.
NKLCSS provides free counseling services to men, women and children throughout Area D and Kaslo, as well as providing a wide range of programs for the under six set offered at the Family Centre in Kaslo and at the Lardeau Valley Community Centre in Meadow Creek.
The "Have a Heart" campaign is a heart-felt initiative which gives back to everyone who buys a heart ~ let me explain: we have 100 wooden hearts that have been cut out and primed with grey exterior paint that await your artistic touch. For $20 you can paint a heart (or have one of our volunteers paint it for you) and have it put up on the Community Garden fence both as a testament to your support, and to help prevent the dear from jumping in to the metal mesh -- plus you'll receive a tax receipt for your efforts.
Watch for our “Have a Heart” table at the Saturday Market between now and Saturday, September 20th. We thank you in advance for your support
