KiN - Board of Directors - 2007

Michael Rogers - President & Chair
I own and operate Intricate Designs, a home based Web Design, Graphic, Tutorials, Custom Computers and PC Service business.

I first joined KiN more than a year ago, to help with this web site, but my involvement grew from there to encompass LardeauValley.com; the new ISP site for KiN.

My main goal is to improve the web presence for Kaslo, as well as informing people of the potential for education via High Speed Internet.

I have a strong background in just about everything related to the computer, whether it is Web related, PC Repair, Programming, Networking or otherwise. I have been a resident of northern Kaslo for the better part of 6 years, and have gained the repect and admiration of my colleagues in a short space of time.

Larry Leonard - Vice President & Vice Chair
For the past couple of years Larry has been increasingly interested in PCs, and his hand-crafted wood furniture business, Leisure Cedar, is becoming overshadowed by his ‘backyard mechanic’ activities. Larry lives in Lardeau, south of Meadow Creek. He was the founder of our Lardeau Valley Internet Committee, which has been disbanded since it has accomplished its goal of bringing High Speed Internet to the Lardeau Valley. Larry is one of our installers, and continues to be involved in the expansion of our network.

Larry also started the new "Computers for Kids" committee, to donate refurbished systems to underpriviledged children.

Robert McLennan - Treasurer & Operations Manager
Rob holds a B.Sc and MBA degrees, with many years in Business and Management. He has an extensive background in Electronics, Radio and Computer Network Design. He has created the Wireless Internet infastructure now in place in Meadow Creek, Cooper Creek, Howser, Argenta, and Lardeau. Rob recently moved to Shutty Bench for a second retirement, but we've hired him as our Operations Manager.

Hugh Sinclair - Secretary - New Board Member!
Hugh has lived in Kaslo since 2002, moving from the coast with his wife of 48 years. He spent 25 years in the Canadian Navy as an electronics technician.

Hugh currently has a diverse shop, and dabbles in wood, and electronics.

John Addison - New Board Member!
Having over 25 years as a Resource Technician in Fisheries Inventory & Research as well as Wildland Recreation Planning and Management. John is currently persuing a local-based GIS business

He currently sits as President for the Kaslo & Area Residents Association (KARA), and is working in conjunction with KiN on creating a "One Kaslo and Area Community Web Portal". This would eliminate a lot of confusion, as well as bringing the residents of Kaslo together.

Kendrick Mauser - New Board Member!
Bio Coming Soon!

Don Edwards - New Board Member!
Don has lived in Meadow Creek since 1972 and came to work for the Ministry of Highways; eventually becoming the road foreman in 1975. Don left, and in 1986, started D&G Construction Ltd., with his brother. He sold everything in 2005, after some injuries and major changes in the industry.

Don currently has a Laser Etching and Cutting business, Laserdit.ca. He has been involved in burying conduit for our main fibre optic feed for the Lardeau Valley infastructure as well as tower base construction.

Tyler Dobie
Tyler is co-owner, CTO and Store Manager of Kootenay Lake Computers, Kaslo’s Computer, Electronic and Office Supply store. In that capacity, he does computer repairs, satellite dish installs, networking, new system builds and ordering. He has been a professional PC technician since 1995, believing strongly in access for all.

His enthusiasm and vision has led our organization forward for two years as President/Chair, and gained local support in the process. Check out his "Past President" page here.

Debra Hamilton
Debra co-owns Wing Creek Cabins Resort in Shutty Bench. She was a Marketing Manager for both BC Tel and Telus and was a central figure in launching residential internet, cellular, and retail paging in BC. Debra has applied her journalism, marketing, and business background to start-up technologies for over 20 years, and her experience is a great asset to our organization.
